Exploding the University was an independent summer school for graduates we have taught* who were interested in socially and critically engaged design. The four-day summer school dealt with the immediate aftermath of the EU Referendum Leave result and took place at the Llysdinman Field Centre in collaboration with A Sustainable Place. We walked, made films and short performances, stroked trees, read, flew drones, talked, drew, made up games, cooked and danced it out at a European Union inspired disco. The outcome was a publication called VOTE LEAF, which was produced and published on-site

*This summer school was set up to: create a situation of mutual support beyond the structure of a three year degree; to preserve a working relationship with individuals we have taught and taught alongside; to encourage and support graduates in maintaining a critical and self-directed practice.
